Alan Farber
Born and raised in Pittsburgh, Alan began the practice of law at a medium-sized downtown law firm as a trial lawyer concentrating in the defense of people being sued for motor vehicle, property claims, medical malpractice, product liablilty, including asbestos claims, and workers' compensation. After gaining additional trial experience representing injured people Alan opened his own law office in the South Hills. Due to his background as a trial attorney Alan was able to evaluate his clients' general legal needs from the perspective of a trial attorney -- how a case would appear to a jury. Alan's philosophy quickly became helping his clients plan ahead to avoid litigation and resolve disputes when they arose. However, having an office in the South Hills meant a steady stream of clients with concerns over wills and the expense of long term care or nursing home care. Over the past 15 years his law practice has grown to the point where "elder law" i.e, assisting clients with wills, estate planning, long term care planning, probate and estate administration, has become his area of concentration and experience.
We view the simple step of proper document preparation -- wills, power of attorney and living wills -- as the first step in avoiding problems when events take a turn for the worse.
